We are developing advanced quantum beam sources utilizing high intensity lasers. That is, laser-driven proton and ion beam generation of several tens of MeV/u energy for medical and industrial applications, ultrashort pulse x-ray generation with wavelengths in the nm range, and development of a new procedure to observe material structures using coherent x-rays.
