The Group for Lasers and Plasmas (GoLP/IST) focuses on experiments, theory and simulations of intense beam plasma interactions for compact acceleration techniques, extreme light sources, and laser physics. GoLP develops the code Osiris in collaboration with the plasma simulation group at UCLA. The group maintains a multi-TW OPCPA laser system and is developing a high repetition rate, high power diode pumped laser. GoLP is enrolled in the AWAKE collaboration at CERN, in self-modulation experiments at SLAC-FACET and in warm dense matter and ultra fast intense x-ray experiments at SLAC-LCLS. |
